Artist Statement

In her beautiful poem, THE WILD IRIS, Louise Glück writes: “whatever returns from oblivion returns to find a voice.” Accessing my earliest sensory memories, I mine the depths of experiences, feelings, and dreams to find inspiration for my work, always surprised by what bubbles up and returns to the surface.

The sensual freedom of painting enables me to crystallize elusive memories and sensations into focused visual realities that are enigmatic, quietly mysterious, sometimes serene, and always slightly dangerous.
